The past few weeks have been a little wild around here. We’ve been chasing down spare parts, hauling provisions aboard, and even replacing our dinghy (because apparently one boat project at a time isn’t enough). Through it all, the boys have been total troopers—helping Mom and Dad, climbing on everything with a rope attached, and squeezing in some very enthusiastic park time between errands.
We’re slowly checking off the last items on our pre-departure list, and our hearts are set on the Bahamas as our first stop. At the moment, though, we’re waiting for the wind to stop blowing from the north. Not only has it brought a little “Florida winter” chill, but when that north wind pushes against the Gulf Stream, it stirs up big, unfriendly waves. And as much as we trust our boat, we’re not looking to start this adventure with a roller-coaster ride.
So we’re taking the delay as a reminder that God’s timing is always better than ours. We’ll finish our remaining projects, enjoy this unexpected pause, and keep watching for the wind to shift. When it does, we’ll be ready—grateful, excited, and trusting the Lord to guide us on the journey ahead.
